INFORMATIVE NOTE
The Iberian Summit of Coimbra is one of the actions foreseen in the 2021-2022 Cooperation Activities Plan between the services of the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security of Portugal and the respective counterparts of the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy of Spain. This Activities Plan results from the Declaration of Intentions for Cooperation signed between the two countries at the end of 2020, which continues the 2015 Memorandum of Cooperation on social policy, employment, and social security.
The Summit will count on the participation of the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security of Portugal, Ana Mendes Godinho, and of the Second Vice President and Minister of Labour and Social Economy of Spain, Yolanda Díaz. Its objective is to strengthen bilateral relations, formalized in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, and to share good practices, in particular in the field of education and training, and European policies for the social economy, through a round table with members of the Academy and a panel with the Confederations representing the Social Economy of both countries.
